The Webinar on "Insights from Strategy Dynamics" has just ended, and it was a very insightful presentation and commentary from Kim. I would very much like to hear again the presentation which Kim mentioned becoming available as an audio recording and also the slide deck being available, albeit modified from what was actually shown.
Would you let me know when these become available and the best way to receive them.
Many thanks, Jeff Steer, Bath Consultancy Group
Thank you very much for the Webinar broadcast. I was familiar with your Ryanair case, but the other examples were new stuff for me. I would like to take you up on your offer to provide copies of the presentation slides.
You also said you might provide another broadcast, elaborating the final example: Retail real-estate, in particular the impact of IT. I would definitely be interested, and I'm sure my colleague, Paul T Robinson (one of your students from 2004) who heads our Value Management practice, would also be interested.
Thanks again, David Galley, EDS Consulting Services UK
Kim, Great job on today's webinar "Insights from Strategy Dynamics!"
The examples were relevant and crisply done. I can see how the Srategy Dynamics user interface is so effective at communicating complexity even to the C-Suite Level. (By the third example I was already anticipating the stock and flow structures.)
What was suprising is the number of questions about the effects of external, industry/economic forces. I think folks need to re-read your discussion about Structure-Conduct-Performance (SCP) and the findings of Rumelt and McGahan/Porter about the 32-45% of Business unit factors (i.e. management decision making) that directly influence firm performance. I guess it's hard to switch from thinking about external factors to facing the "new" fact that we can influence our own destiny:)
Again, well done!, Don
