Audio-visual presentations to illustrate use of the mystrategy® software.

Kim Warren illustrates and talks through the use of mystrategy® whilst building a strategic architecture of some of the elements from an EasyJet case study. During the presentation he introduces the mystrategy® interface and some of its functionality as well as discussing how to build up the map.

If you wish to build this yourself in order to gain familiarity with mystrategy® then most of this can be acomplished using the free mystrategy® Reader - note though that you will not be able to save your work. Download a copy of the Reader or buy a personal licence for mystrategy

Format: Flash presentation with audio. Also used is a spreadsheet of data on EasyJet. Download a copy so you can also try the excercise.

  • Macromedia Shockwave Flash version 5 or above. If you have not got the Flash player installed you will be asked if you wish to install it from Macromedia.com

Mapping with mystrategy® - with Kim Warren

Part 1 - Duration 19 minutes
Starting out with some information on the background of the software Kim then moves on to a tour of the mystrategy® interface and looks at the timeline and how to change the timescale of the model. Kim demonstrates adding the first elements of a model and three methods of adding data to variables. Kim also refers to an excel spreadsheet of sample EasyJet data which you can download now - just right click here (zipped file)

Part 2 Duration 10 minutes
Kim starts by recapping part 1 and then moves on to adding additional variables, demonstrating the Strategy Dynamics approach of working back from a key data item and adding more structure and introducing resources to the map. The spreadsheet used in part 1 is also used during the course of the presentation.

Part 3 - Duration 6 minutes
Continuing on from Parts 1 & 2, Kim looks in more detail at resources and illustrates the Derive funtion (not available in demo software)

Part 4 - Duration 10 minutes

In this presentation Kim demonstrates a mystrategy® model of a useful structure: the "choice pipeline" or "conviction chain" and looks at using the model for exploring alternative strategies.
