Stimulating workshops in corporate training

Microworlds from Strategy Dynamics are successfully used in in-house and executive education training events in general management, system dynamics and strategy.

Designed to be used in small groups these simulations create a risk free learning environment and foster team building. Whether your group is of 5 people or 50 we can provide flexible and affordable licences for your event and licences for repeat events can be organised by email minimising administrative effort.

Our simulations are popular with participants, so long as adequate forethought is given – a feature that reflects well on the instructor!

We help you deliver a successful course by providing...

  • Comprehensive teaching packs that enable you to incorporate our Microworlds rapidly into your training repertoire.
  • A range of simulations designed to communicate specific learning points. Have a look at the selection of Microworlds available to find the one most relevant for your needs. Information about each can be found under the "more information" link and includes suggested class outlines.

Overview of licensing options

Suggested class outlines generally take the form of …

  • preparatory reading about the business situation, plus (optionally) background readings on the management principles to be covered
  • an initial plenary discussion on the case situation and the implications of the underlying principles for the situation to be examined
  • if desired, role play can be introduced by allocating responsibility for different decisions to each team member
  • participant groups experience the simulations in a team environment, negotiating their strategy amongst themselves
  • groups then pursue their choice of strategy, at their own pace, as many times as your agenda allows
  • a final plenary session debriefs groups’ experiences and learning, and seeks parallels, differences and implications for management situations of their own

This format is enjoyable for students, easy to deliver and highly effective. They have been thoroughly tested in class with top students, as well as with executive groups in a wide variety of learning situations including teambuilding events and 360-degree feedback exercises.
